How can we convince more hospitals to implement a Distributed Energy/Cogeneration project? As hospitals take care of our most vulnerable friends and family, it seems to me that power reliability should be a top priority for every hospital. Then, when you consider the available Incentive Dollars, the attainable Energy Savings, and the market capacity for Innovative Financing, you would think every hospital in the Northeast and California would already be generating their own power. And, yet, most do not yet have a Distributed Energy strategy.
In my recently published article, “The Business Case for Distributed Energy in Hospitals” from the NJ Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Associations’ bi-monthly publication, “Garden State Focus” , I review the Business Drivers, Technologies and Funding Solutions for implementing such a program.
